Time-to-Hire Explained

The number of days from a candidate applying to accepting an offer.

Deborah Adeleye-Olalekan 3 min read

Definition

Time-to-hire measures days from application to signed offer for the candidate who is hired. It's distinct from time-to-fill, which measures days from role open to start date.

Why it matters

Short time-to-hire correlates with better candidate experience and lower drop-off — especially in competitive markets.
